Sanford Foods was founded by Martin Erdemir Sanford, a British-born entrepreneur who relocated from the UK to İzmir in 1996 in pursuit of a better life and a closer connection to the land and growers behind the products he believed in. What began as a trade in sun-dried tomatoes has grown into a dedicated focus on premium fruit, with Sanford Foods now exporting high-quality dried fruits and "Better for You" fruit-based snacks to the world. Throughout his career, Martin has consistently championed Turkish produce on the global stage; even successfully defending Turkish cherry exports in a landmark case before the United States International Trade Commission and today serves as Vice Chairman of the Aegean Exporters' Union, continuing to advocate for the region's growers and producers. A husband and father of two, both now active in the family business, Martin's guiding philosophy remains simple: source the best of Turkey's harvest, premiumise it, and build them into brands the world wants to taste.
